Green Grab Bag Organic Beauty Samples
Green Grab Bag describes their sample subscription like this:
“We are not fans of the chemically laden skin care, hair care, cosmetics and nail polishes that dominate the market. That’s why, six years ago, we set out to uncover all natural, vegan, and/or eco friendly alternatives to those products and introduce them to you. A lot has changed in six years. We used to have to do some pretty deep digging to find products that worked as well as their chemically dependent counterparts. Today, there are hundreds of products from which to choose. The problem is knowing WHICH ONE to choose. That’s where Green Grab Bag comes in!”
This post will focus on my favorite items I received in January and February’s Green Grab Bag deliveries.
-Dead Sea Warehouse Face and Body Bar:
-Dead Sea Warehouse Description:
“Naturally soothing and non-drying, leaving skin itch free. Supports Blemish Free Skin Conditioning. Temporarily soothes rashes (including diaper rash) and eczema, too. Great for all skin types, face & full body use. No animal testing. Vegan. Ingredients: Saponified Oils of Olives, Palm and Coconut, Dead Sea Minerals.”
-My Description & Thoughts:
This soap is straight to the point. Simple, gentle, unscented, mildly gritty/sandy and soothing. This is just a great soap if you want a gentle yet effective cleanse without a noticeable scent, all while nourishing your skin with great ingredients. This is a great, simple soap.
-Savvy Boheme Coconut and Shea Body Mousse:
-Green Grab Bag’s Description:
“It’s like a tug of war for the senses when the warmth of the coconut meets the cool of the peppermint, drenching your skin in moisture.”
-My Description & Thoughts:
-Man, oh man. This stuff creates an intense aroma. A great one, though. I apply it right after stepping out of the shower. The peppermint on warm skin is so soothing and the coconut just adds to the goodness. This company, Savvy Boheme, also makes an outstanding Peppermint & Rosemary deodorant that I highly recommend. Something about the peppermint in these products is intoxicating.
-Golden Path Alchemy Cleansing Oil:
-Green Grab Bag’s Description:
“Dissolve even the most stubborn makeup and cleanse your skin all in one step.”
-My Description & Thoughts:
This sample was a nice surprise: A make-up remover that cleanses the skin by way of essential oils, primarily. It is very effective and leaves the skin feeling clean and fresh, sans make-up remnants. I don’t wear make-up often, but this is a great product, nonetheless. I rub it onto the skin around my eyes to remove mascara, eyeliner and eyeshadow and wipe clean with a cotton ball.
-Virga Botanicals Pumpkin and Carrot Mask:
-Green Grab Bag’s Description:
“Luxurious skin can be yours with this vitamin rich mask.”
-My Description & Thoughts:
This stuff is surprising and awesome! The texture is basically a powder. When water is added it evolves into an oatmeal texture, which makes it perfect for applying to skin as a mask. It does great things for skin–it nourishes, lightly cleanses, and leaves skin feeling moisturized, not dry and tight.
-Brittanie’s Thyme Organic Restorative Facial Serum:
-Green Grab Bag’s Description:
“Intense moisture with no pore-clogging residue? Yes please!”
-My Description & Thoughts:
This serum is chock full of goodness. I have been aware for a while about the benefits of Thyme essential oil on skin, which made this sample a perfect product for me to try. It does everything and is everything that you’d want a serum to be. It is made of organic ingredients, replenishes skin and leaves skin moisturized without leaving it oily or suffocated.

-EVOLVh Luxury Organic Haircare Ultrashine Moisture Shampoo:
-Green Grab Bag’s Description:
“Our beauty editor swears by this shampoo, and even buys it in bulk. You’ll understand why, when you lather up!”
-My Description & Thoughts:
-I normally use a clarifying shampoo made by Aubrey Organics, but this hydrating shampoo was a nice change. I used it when my scalp was just moderately oily/dirty and it cleansed gently and left my hair soft, shiny, and managable. It was not desperate for conditioner after shampooing, as the shampoo was nourishing in itself. The smell is very pleasant and fresh–perfect to leave in the shower for your significant other to use as well.
-Mineral Hygienics Eye Shadow:
-Green Grab Bag’s Description:
“These shadows last all day, and well into the night. Wear alone or blend for a customized look.”
-My Description & Thoughts:
This color is a light & pretty pink called “pink desert.” It is a little different color-wise than what I would normally wear, but it is subtle enough to be a nice addition to my other organic eye shadow options. I wear it in a thin layer evenly over my eyelid with just a bit of mascara for a day-time look.
-Kimberly Sayer of London Restore Anti-Aging Cream:
-Green Grab Bag’s Description:
“Who says you have to look your age? This deep penetrating cream keeps your face looking as young as you feel.”
-My Description & Thoughts:
At age 25, my focus hasn’t yet been on any “anti-aging” products. However, I do believe it’s never too early to take preventative measures. This sample came in a little packet that had about enough for one use in it. It was creamy, nourishing, rich, soothing, and left the skin around my eyes moisturized and awake.
-Sumbody Salt Scrub Bonbon:
-Green Grab Bag’s Description:
“These may look and smell good enough to eat, but we don’t recommend it. Instead, use them in the shower or bath for glowing skin.”
-My Description & Thoughts:
This little round, gritty scrub has a yummy cinnamon scent to it–quite different from any other soaps/scrubs I use. Cinnamon is a nice change of pace as a scent to have in the shower. In approximately the shape and size of a golf ball, this little bon bon is coarse and acted as a body exfolliant for me. Was pleasant to use!
-Mixology Mineral Eye Shadow:
-Green Grab Bag’s Description:
“The eyes have it, when you apply this richly pigmented eye shadow without harmful ingredients.”
-My Description & Thoughts:
This shadow is exactly the color I would buy to use as a shadow right under my eyebrows for highlighting. The color of this shadow is “gold mirage.” It is so pretty when worn with brown eye shadows, especially. The clean ingredient list makes me give this shadow a big stamp of approval.
-Favor Care Mineral Eye Dust:
-Green Grab Bag’s Description:
“Sheer, shimmery color for highlighting or wearing alone.”
-My Description & Thoughts:
When I wear eye shadow, I typically stick to a brown & nude palette of color. This shadow is a lavender-purplish color that somehow looks subtle and pretty when applied. I wear a light layer of it over my lids for a little pop of color during the day. It feels light and isn’t too thick or globby.
