Vital Proteins Review: Collagen Veggie Blend + Collagen Beauty Greens

This is the 2nd review I’ve done on Vital Proteins collagen products! My first time experiencing this brand, I used their Collagen Peptides and Marine Collagen, both of which are featured in this previous post.

A wee little backstory on my approach to eating and how I see collagen as a valuable addition…I am a huge an advocate for plants, as I see them as the some of the most nutrient dense forms of food we can possibly consume. That said, I have DEFINITELY found success and benefits from implementing a few supplements strategically (like Vital Proteins Collagen). When taking their collagen regularly, I find that I recover faster from grueling, heavy crossfit workouts, my hair + skin + nails are tougher, and I generally have a better feeling of strength and vitality. This makes sense, as collagen is the most abundant form of protein in the body. It’s the building block that helps the body rebuild and restore.

So, I’ve known that I love Vital Protein’s Collagen Peptides (derived from grass-fed, pasture raised beef) and Marine Collagen (derived from wild caught red snapper), but I had yet to experience their other products. Enter: the Collagen Veggie Blend and the Collagen Beauty Greens.

My Experience:

I see the Collagen Veggie Blend and Collagen Greens as different from Vital Proteins’s other products in that these boast the benefits of superfoods AND collagen. They are extra power packed and are ideal for me for after a workout when I’m looking to replenish my glycogen stores, alkalize and keep my energy level thriving.

I use both of them interchangeably in my post workout shake. There are SO many different ways you can use these products, but I tend to default to simplicity. I love that the collagen beauty greens contain really nutrient-dense, detoxifying greens like wheatgrass, alfalfa leaf, barley grass and spinach.

The Collagen Veggie blend in my eyes verges on a more restorative, nourishing note. I mean, just check out that sweet ingredient list. I know I’m not getting enough of those awesome ingredients everyday like butternut squash, carrot, blackberry, acerola cherry and broccoli (just to name a few).

Both of these rad products get my stamp of approval. If you’ve tried Vital Proteins products before but are curious about these two, go get em! They’re more of a well rounded snack or meal replacement, rather that just a source of protein. #StayVital
